"A strong family history of breast cancer has shaped my thinking and determination to be actively involved in breast cancer care and to find innovative service delivery models.
As a GP I regularly assess patients who present with new breast symptoms, provide follow up care for cancer survivors, and recognise the important role that GPs play in management of late effects of cancer treatment as well as risk reduction.
I envisage the future of cancer care involving multidisciplinary teams, including GPs, that are linked together to use a shared care approach, extending from prevention, diagnosis, active treatment and survivorship care."
